MTC Fleet

The MTC Fleet consists of executive Mercedes Benz Sprinters with 8-passenger seats and 6-seater V Classes to fulfil the needs of every one of our clients. Our vehicles have different specifications including DVD Player, USB charging points, built in tables and refrigerators.

Our Drivers

Maurice McKendrick

Maurice is the Transport Manager of the company. He combines his role as a first-class driver/ guide with taking care of the fleet of vehicles. Maurice served 30 years in the police, the last seventeen as a traffic officer and Advanced Police Driver. During this time he gained many traffic & transport related qualifications, such as time/distance speed detection instructor, light & heavy vehicle examiner and accident scene examiner, amongst others. After retiring from the Police he spent a few years driving articulated HGV’s prior to starting his present career as a driver/guide in 2016; a role which he has loved since. Many delighted clients have enthused at Maurice`s sense of humor, good nature and incredible knowledge which he has augmented superbly in the job. Maurice has a great love of Scottish history and culture, having a good knowledge of the life of our National Bard, Robert (Rabbie) Burns. Maurice will regularly go “off-piste” to help make the clients’ experience more memorable and special. 

Glen Tebbutt

Glen has been looking after golfers and non golfers alike since 2014, with some 150 very high quality tours under his belt. A native of the East Midlands of England, Glen`s vast experience of business and client relationships extends to a period as a Manager of a Logistics Company in France and 7 years as a chauffeur to very prestigious clients in London. You cannot be in safer hands than with Glen who plays golf at Troon Links and has lived in Troon for eight years.

Douglas Allison

A former Area Director of RBS, where he spent his career from 1968 – 2012 in Dundee, Tain, Thurso, Edinburgh, Irvine, Paisley, Greenock and Ayr. A former President of Troon Rotary Club, Douglas is still very active in the Club, in addition to his love of golf, hill walking, tennis and motoring. Douglas has been a fantastic concierge in Scotland, England, Ireland and Wales for the past 7 years.

Gordon McKinlay

Gordon retired recently after 44 years as a golf professional, the latter 27 as Head Professional at Troon Links. There is no one more experienced at taking care of golfers than Gordon, who has dozens of delighted clients across the globe from the 100+ tours he has done in the past four years. His playing and taking care of people across the world gives him a great knowledge of the British Isles plus Spain and Portugal.

Davie Gibson

Davie has been a resident of Scotland for over 50 years, both East and West, in Aberdeen, Dundee and now Troon for over 25 years. He is a single figure handicap golfer, a former publican and has done golf and sight seeing tours for nearly twenty years. Loved by all his clients, his knowledge of Scotland, England, Ireland and Wales is second to none.

Dominic Macari

Dominic spent 32 years with RBS, 20 years of which were in management roles, delivering high levels of customer service, a skill he brings with him to great effect in his role as a driver/guide, which he has been doing tremendously for 5 years with nearly 1000 very happy clients to his name! Dominic is a 5 handicap member of Irvine Golf Club, enjoys playing 5-a-side football, watching soccer teams Manchester United and his hometown team Dunfermline. He has also held positions at Haggs Castle and Royal Troon Golf Clubs in Secretarial and Customer care roles.

Stuart Ferguson

Stuart has been conducting golf and sight seeing tours for some 3 years, and the skills he learned as a Detective Chief Inspector in the Police has stood him in good stead when seeking out the whereabouts of clients` past relatives, as well and his people skills delighting many golfers travelling to Ireland, Scotland and England. With Irish ancestors (his grandfather played off scratch at Royal County Down) and a keen interest in golf and rugby, no group could be in better hands.

Roddy Young

Roddy enjoyed an extremely successful career in hospitality working as a “trouble shooter” regenerating some properties in Scotland and London in addition to managing very successfully some great venues country wide. He makes every tour a tour to remember and is requested by many of his past clients from the last 3 years. A golfer and President of the prestigious and ancient Maltmen Society in his native Glasgow.

Graham Bell

Without fear of contradiction the best golfer on the team! “Dinger” as he is known, has twice won the Scottish Seniors title, has lead the Seniors Order of Merit and represented Scotland numerous times in Internationals across Europe, Great Britain and in the USA. He also processes a great sense of humor and makes the many trips he has done in the past 3 years fun to match! Just don`t play him for money – he holds the course record at his home club of Downfield in Dundee with 63 (10 under par)!

Malcolm Noble

Malcolm had a successful career since 1982 as a General Sales Manager with transport company TNT International Worldwide until his retirement.  His hobbies are golf, motor sport and walking. Having spent 21 years living in Warwickshire he enjoyed many walks in the beautiful Cotswold countryside. He is also a keen member of The Mauchline Burns Club.

Craig Hutchison

Craig recently moved back to his native Troon from Newcastle where he was involved a very successful office supply business. This followed a career as a golf professional, so the combination of his great depth of knowledge of golf and experience of dealing with people at a senior level in business has contributed to his success as a guide. He has enjoyed great success as a concierge for 6 years.

John Maltwood

John, a Londoner, is a keen golfer having enjoyed a very successful career as a Surveyor and property developer throughout London, the Home counties and Scotland. He also worked on projects throughout England on behalf of various lending institutions and had his own properties throughout Scotland so is a great guide in either country.

Keith Baxter

Keith has been a golf professional for over 40 years with the last 27 years as Head Professional at Buchanan Castle Golf Club. A very good player, merchandiser, tournament administrator and teacher, Keith is a Board Director and Fellow Professional of the P.G.A. and from his early days as an Assistant at Gleneagles has had an outstanding customer care ethic which our clients love!

John Bell

John has recently retired after 35 years employment at Plean Precast Ltd, the last 20 as Managing Director. Quality service and product, prioritising the customer and ensuring their expectations are met are principals that he has worked to during his career. A lifelong member of member of Glenbervie Golf Club, playing to a handicap of 5, John also played cricket for Stenhousemuir Cricket Club. He enjoys life outdoors in general and is a keen cyclist and Munro bagger.

MURCAR
PLAYING THE COURSE

The Murcar Links meets Royal Aberdeen at its ninth green and shares the same spectacular dune land and stunning North Sea views in addition to sharing its neighbour`s ability to challenge a golfer of any standard.

The course was originally designed by Archie Simpson in 1909 it was improved upon by 5 times Open Champion, James Braid in the 1930`s and has hosted, amongst other professional and amateur events, the European Tour`s Paul Lawrie Match Play in 2015 won by Thailand`s Kiradech Aphibarnrat. Being only 5 miles from Trump International Links and bordering Royal Aberdeen it is a must play along with these two and Cruden Bay.

PLAYING THE COURSE / WONDER

This magnificent site was developed by Donald J Trump, opening in 2012. The in put from the owner along with the experience of the Royal and Ancient Golf club`s architect, who has improved many Open Championship venues, Dr Martin Hawtree created a golf course which has achieved the highest ever top 10 United Kingdom and top 100 World ranking entry positions with various top publications. As Dr Hawtree said  “It will produce simply the most dramatic, stimulating, invigorating stretch of golf anywhere I have seen in my career”

CRUDEN BAY
PLAYING THE COURSE / WONDER

This magnificent links rates at World no 71 per www.top100golfcourses.com and rightly so! It meanders through the same, most dramatic in Scotland, dunes as Royal Aberdeen and Trump International Golf Links. There are records showing golf being played on the site near Slains Castle in 1791 and indeed the Club has in its procession a Medal played for over this original course in 1883. The present course was commissioned by the Great North of Scotland Railway Company in 1894 as a facility to accompany the Cruden Bay Hotel and designed by four times Open champion Old Tom Morris of St Andrews. It fully opened in 1899 with an inaugural professional two day open tournament.

The leader after the first day’s play was 6 times Open Champion Harry Vardon. On the second day the leading four qualifiers went into matchplay and in the final Vardon beat David Kinnel from Prestwick St Nicholas by 3 and 2.

Bram Stoker used to frequently stay in the near by Kilmarnock Arms Hotel and used Slains Castle (very visible from the early holes) as his inspiration for the Dracula novels!

 

Cock and Bull

The Cock and Bull is situated vert close to Trump International Golf Links and is a great eatery or watering hole after golf there or on the way back from Cruden Bay. It is cosy inn with great local produce and lovely surroundings. It boasts an AA rosette and is in the Michelin Eating Out guide in addition to being voted Scottish gatropub of the year three times.

Silver Darling Restaurant

Cafe 52

The Green as it is known locally lay neglected until recently. It is now the attention of foodies through the wonderful efforts of local entrepreurs with the restaurant Café 52 as its featured attraction.

Set in a little quadrangle behind the main thorough fair of Aberdeen, Union Street you are guaranteed a great night and never to be forgotten meal at Café 52.

It is a truly 5 star experience on the outskirts of Aberdeen with superior and grand deluxe bedrooms and dining to match in addition to an intimate bar wonderfully stocked with Scotland`s most famous drink!

Located on the entrance road to the world class Trump International Golf Links, this is a great base for the links golf on offer around the Resort.

Cults Hotel

Cults although only 10 minutes from Aberdeen city center, retains a lovely, village feel and that same warm, friendly experience is on offer at the Hotel. Ideal for golfers and owned by a very keen golfer who knows how best to cater to the golfing guest.

The busy restaurant offers wonderful local produce with a great menu of local and International dishes.

Ardoe House

Part of the Mercure group, Mercure Aberdeen Ardoe House Hotel & Spa is a beautiful 19th Century mansion house, originally designed by renowned Castle designer James Matthews and built by Alexander Ogston, with the Queen`s near by residence of Balmoral as the inspiration. Its 30 acres is situated on the leafy South Deeside Road some three miles from the city centre and along with its spa, locally inspired cuisine at Blair`s and Soaphie`s bar it is a great location for visitors to Aberdeen.
