South West

Map of England showing South West

Overview

The “Cornish Riviera” (and its neighbouring County, Devon) as it is known, a hugely popular tourist destination in the South West of England, has so many great points to recommend it – great seaside views, a wonderful temperate climate, lovely seafood and some great links courses! At its forefront would be the oldest golf course in England, Royal North Devon, the creation in 1864 of 4 times Open champion, Old Tom Morris. A more traditional and historic course you will not find! Close by are Saunton, where its 36 holes are amongst the best 36 holes of links golf in the world. So many rave about Trevose with a great course and lovely owners who will give you a great Cornish welcome – let us arrange a very relaxed vacation for you with great golf!
Royal North Devon

Royal North Devon Golf Course, South West England

Founded in 1864 at Westward Ho! This club can lay claim to being the oldest in England. Recently Golf World placed in the “top 100 courses you must play” RND is pure, raw exhilaration and ultimately the experience of playing a fast running links in a stiff breeze still tests the very best in the game. In 1957 5 times Open champion and local resident J.H. Taylor became club President and many of the clubs which he used to win his Opens are displayed in the clubhouse.

Saunton

It is heavily rumored that the R&A would love to have the South West of the country host an Open championship with either Saunton or Royal Porthcawl as the fore runners if it ever happens! The land has hosted golf since 1897 and this West country classic was designed by Herbert Fowler who also designed, amongst others, The Berkshire and Walton Heath.

St Enodoc Golf Club, Church Course

St EnGolf Course, South West England

St Enodoc’s Church course is a James Braid design that enjoys a justified reputation as one of the West Country’s finest links layouts. Its wonderful holes (it shares excellent and very similar bunkering to Royal St George`s) have great views over the Camel Estuary, the beautiful seaside village of Padstow and out towards the Atlantic.

Trevose

Trevose Golf Course, South West England

Opened in 1925 the Championship Course has played host to The Brabazon Trophy (2008), The McGregor Trophy (2012) and the English Men’s County Finals (2017) in recent years. Ranked as one of the top links courses in the British Isles it offers a unique golfing experience and is loved by so many of our clients who have taken in the beautiful South West of England`s counties of Devon and Cornwall.
